Inkle Loom

Inkle looms are great for start-up weaving programs because they require little additional equipment, are easy to use and understand, and are easily stored. "Inkle" means a woven strip. Make bookmarks, belts, bands, purse straps, anything up to 4 inches wide. This inkle loom is ideal for tabletop work and is very portable. Many weavers simply place the back end on the floor and weave at the front end while comfortably seated in a chair. Hand built from solid poplar hardwood. Measures 30" long, 10" high. The dowels are 5" long. It has one open side for ease of warping. The tension bar has an easy grip handle for adjusting the warp tension during weaving. It's been finish coated with linseed oil. Included with the loom are 2 free accessories, a belt shuttle and pickup stick. WHY ARE THESE LOOMS A BETTER DEAL? The mainframe joinery is double reinforced. The dowels are glued and screwed in place. The tensioning slot has been lengthened by 3" to accommodate a larger adjusting range. The lead dowel is a full 1 1/8" thick and is tenoned into the slot for smooth adjustment. The heavier bulky commercial looms sell for $65 to $70 before shipping. The belt shuttle and pickup stick would cost you at least $8 if bought separately. So here's your opportunity to take advantage of a lightweight solidly constructed product at an attractive delivered price. Check our shipping calculator for your actual postage. You pay only what it costs us and we never charge a handling fee.
