Dilbeck Metalsmithing

John Dilbeck comes from a long line of blacksmiths. Now, instead of doing what my ancestors did, I specialize in taking automobile body panels that are destined to the junkyard, and through the application of fire and thousands of hammer blows, I transform these deformed hunks of steel into beautiful Steel Roses That Never Wilt. My website has pictures of the final product and a step-by-step discussion of how I make them. You are cordially invited to visit JohnDilbeck.com.

Large Steel Rose

The large rose is the most complex version, and takes much longer to make than the others. The stem is a quarter-inch steel rod with a length of about twelve inches. The leaf is composed of three leaflets brazed to fourteen-gauge wire. The blossom is made of twenty-five petals and is approximately six inches in diameter. Price: $500.00
