The canteen gourd is one of my most popular items. It ranges in size from a few inches to over one foot in diameter. We draw a design on the gourd lid and then cut it out.The lid can be puzzlelike to fit. The area is pyrographed and painted. The gourd is stained in colors such as mahogany, tan, or green. The texture of the gourd makes each gourd color unique. Containers are used as a piece of art or as a receptacle.
Apple gourds are also made into containers and are painted using acrylics. Everyone always comments on the apple gourd sticker.
